I love this as the first quote for the first week of 2012!! From what I interpret the quote to mean it is telling you that instead of spending time regretting past decisions and how they've affected your life to this point, you should instead begin to change what you don't like about your life and yourself, immediately!! It is never too late!! What better time to start than now!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

Happy New Year, Everyone!! I hope yours was well!! I thoroughly enjoyed mine! Due to the fact that my father's side of the family doesn't celebrate Thanksgiving (due to the pilgrims betraying the Natives after breaking bread), and we're also Haitian, we have our huge feast on Haitian Independence Day/ New Year's Day. (Side Note: Haitian Independence Day is January 1st / Haitian FLAG Day is May 18th) My very good friend Winnie was with me (You can find her here Some Like It Haute...), and we spoke and made plans to conquer 2012! This new year is a year of new beginnings and all though my personal life is not all I would...desire it to be, I am working through it. I have many mottos for 2012 but one of the ones I want you to focus on is from that famous poster which has now seen a resurgence "Keep Calm and Carry On". I want all of you to embrace this saying. To quote the film Jawbreaker "Learn it, Live it, Love it". Now embracing this quote does not mean that you won't have a bit of a meltdown now and then, or won't be stressed.

It's been quite a hectic year for us here at Fighting the Current. It's been a time of learning and growing. We have been slacking lately...but don't worry because after the New Year...We're back, We've learned and now...We're A PROBLEM...       I was feeling a bit inspired, when I came across this poem, I really like the message it gives. This is truly the way life should be lived, it ffels as if everyone now is so adult they have no time to just relax and breathe.
